What is the CISEN?

The Centro de Investigación y Seguridad Nacional (CISEN) is a civil intelligence structure that serves the Mexican State and its goal is to generate strategic, tactic and operational intelligence, which shall preserve the Mexican State’s integrity, stability and permanence, as well as to support governance and straighten the rule of law.

The role of the CISEN is to alert and propose preventive measures, dissuasion, containment and neutralization of risks and threats trying to infringe Mexican territory, sovereignty, constitutional order, liberties and democratic institutions, as well as the country’s economic, social and political development.
